چکیده

The concept of schema and some general characteristics of models using schemata are discussed. It is shown by computer simulations how a combination of a number of simple neural circuits are capable of performing actions similar to those commonly attributed to schemata, especially self-organization of a representational code, recognition of spatial and temporal structure, adaptive performance and semantic constraint satisfaction.

Using Subsumption in Semantic Query Optimization

Semantic Query Optimization optimize query processing by transforming a query into a semantically equivalent one, i.e. a query whose result is the same for every instance of the database. Semantic query optimization can be obtained by a query rewriting that takes into account the integrity constraints the database must satisfy. In this paper we analyze the possibility of implementing semantic o...

International Workshop on Emergent Semantics and Ontology Evolution

Until recently, most data interoperability techniques involved central components, e.g., global schemas or ontologies, to overcome semantic heterogeneity for enabling transparent access to heterogeneous data sources. Today, however, with the democratization of tools facilitating knowledge elicitation in machineprocessable formats, one cannot rely on global, centralized schemas anymore as knowle...

Semantic Correspondence of Database Schema from Heterogeneous Databases using Self-Organizing Map

This paper provides a framework for semantic correspondence of heterogeneous databases using selforganizing map. It solves the problem of overlapping between different databases due to their different schemas. Clustering technique using self-organizing maps (SOM) is tested and evaluated to assess its performance when using different kinds of data. Preprocessing of database is performed prior to...
